Performance & tuning

Upgrades specified so the car still passes §57a. The interesting part is not the power, it is keeping the registration.

Austria is unusually strict about modifications. A part that is legal in Germany can invalidate your Typenschein here, and an unapproved modification found at §57a means the car is off the road until it is reversed.

What we will do

  • Suspension, brakes and wheels with Austrian or EU approval documentation
  • Exhaust systems that hold the noise limit and keep the approval
  • Intake, cooling and drivetrain work within the approved envelope
  • Cosmetic and interior work, which is rarely a regulatory problem

What we will tell you not to do

Power increases beyond what the Einzelgenehmigung documents, deleted emissions equipment, and anything requiring an approval that does not exist for your vehicle.

We would rather lose the job than hand back a car that cannot be registered. Everything we fit is entered into the papers where it needs to be.

What it costs

Quoted per project. The specification conversation is free, and worth having before you buy parts from anyone.

Common questions

I already bought parts in the US. Can you fit them?

Sometimes. Send us the part numbers before you ship them and we will tell you whether they can be approved here — that conversation costs nothing and has saved people a lot.

Will tuning affect my NoVA?

NoVA is assessed at registration, so later modifications do not retrigger it. But a change to the declared CO₂ or power at approval time absolutely does.

Can you certify work done elsewhere?

We can take it through the approval process if it is approvable. If it is not, we will say so before you pay for anything.
